TELY ORGANICS
Health Food Brand
Logo and Product DesignBrief:
Logo and product design for health food label, Tely Organics.
Inspiration:
It was very important for the client to be different both in the trustworthiness of their products and the colorfulness of their brand aesthetic. They really wanted to be colorful and bold and they sourced inspiration from existing brands like MILK Cosmetics, Cha Cha Matcha and Moon Juice. We decided it was the minimalistic appeal of the text design of these brands, and the maximalistic appeal of the use of color and information that resonated. The brand ethos played a big role in the use of design and color, particularly brand attributes like cosmic, futuristic, digital, and otherworldly.
Brand Ethos:
Futuristic, Digital, Cosmic Alchemists, Otherworldy, Family Farm, Ancient Knowledge.
Logo Design:
For the logo design, the client already had a logo she was not happy with. She liked the rainbow gradient background, but wanted the text around the head and wanted it to be more evenly spaced. She also didn’t like the version of the alien face, so we made it more friendly with the sparkles found in the text. We ended up using those sparkles as an extension of the design in some of the labels and stickers.
She wanted a secondary logo for her own certification of products, titled ‘LA Approved’. She liked the USDA Organic logo, so we made a two-toned version with her information on it, keeping with her chosen color palette.
Product Design:
The products to be sold in the cafe were fresh juice blends, milk alternatives, smoothies, and juice shots. Each required separately designed sticker labels for the front and back. In total, there were 12 juices, 12 smoothie mixes, 5 milk alternatives, and 9 juice shots.
The Protein and Sugar-Free bags were to be sold in grocery stores, so they required more consideration in regards to design and labeling than the cafe products. For the protein and sugarfree bags, we had to work closely with the FDA, USDA Organic, and Non-GMO guidelines to make sure all of the information was properly placed and sized. Each has their own strict regulations about the listing of ingredients, font, font size, nutritional information, and positioning of the labels, so all of that was taken into account with the design of the bags.
